The applicants own the property opposite the proposed site, which they acquired
Several years ago, with a view to controlling the development of the application site, which had been given consent for the erection of 5 two-storey, one-bedroom apartments, without parking (application number Y05/0237/SH). The applicants want to change the proposals to create a single two-bedroom house above a garage, with a bedroom and en-suite in the roof space. The remains of the site would have parking below a raised deck, creating external amenity space for the new house. The new property would be a separate dwelling; however, the applicants intend to retain the building for their own use initially.
