Albert Road
The final scheme delivered four residential units in the Queens Road Conservation Area, featuring three larger three- to five-bedroom houses and one smaller single-bedroom coach house. Designed in an Edwardian Queen Anne revival style, the development respected local scale, plot widths, and architectural character.
The layout accommodated site levels with level access from Albert Road and Park Road North, and provided discreet parking. Traditional materials and detailing ensured the buildings blended with the historic context while each retained unique features.
Landscaping included planting and tree replacement to enhance biodiversity. The design followed Secure by Design principles for safety. Risk assessments showed low contamination and flood risk, with minimal wildlife impact and no significant archaeology.
The project complied with Ashford Local Plan policies by increasing town center housing density sensitively, aiming for an Eco Homes Excellent sustainability rating.
