Doddington Place, Doddington | Grade II Listed Building | Alterations | Conservation Area | Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
The two wings of Doddington Place were reunited, with the former kitchen restored to its original use as a library featuring high bookshelves. Several rooms in the Main House and East Wing were repurposed, focusing on the east side, including private ground-floor rooms for everyday living. The second entrance was subtly altered to restore views into the gardens, while the unattractive flat-roofed garden room was demolished and a blocked-up window reinstated. Minor window modifications improved garden access, and external works aimed to restore the building’s historic character, enhance light, and reinforce its original elegance.
Internally, spaces were adapted to modern lifestyles while maintaining the building’s heritage. Doddington Place accommodated mixed functions, hosting events in the great hall and gardens, including opera, exhibitions, lectures, and workshops. The East Wing became a private family home, with a new kitchen and living spaces designed for comfort, privacy, and convenience, seamlessly integrating contemporary living within the historic fabric of the house
