Project Information

This new build new Community Centre was built next to an original redundant Victorian school building which was incorporated into the design.  The new building consists of a main hall in a barn like structure designed to accommodate about 300 people, and including a raised stage and back stage facilities; a connecting flat roof structure with foyer, receptions and rest room facilities; and the original school building, containing a second hall, kitchens, offices and separate entrance.  The main hall is designed to accommodate a badminton court and can also be subdivided into two smaller meeting rooms.
The new building is constructed with a steel frame, brick base walls, untreated green oak weatherboarding, plan clay tile roof and oak frame windows and doors.
