Cyma Architects secured planning consent in 2019 for the conversion of the former St. Columba church in Dover for conversion into sixteen, one and two-bedroom apartments after building was gutted by fire some ten years ago.
The former Edwardian church is a prominent building within the Dover College Conservation Area, adjacent to a Grade II Listed Georgian crescent and diagonally opposite the Maison Dieu. The conservation and restoration of this building is critical to the preservation of the character of this part of town.
Cyma Architects are currently working on the technical design and project managing the work to overcome the challenges of working on a delicate, historic structure in a constricted, town centre location. Work on site is due to commence in early 2021.
