Headcorn Community Centre was constructed on the site of a redundant Victorian school building which was incorporated into the design. The new building consists of a main hall designed to accommodate about 300 people, and including a raised stage and back stage facilities in a structure reminiscent of traditional threshing barn; a connecting flat roof structure with foyer, receptions and rest room facilities; and the original school building, containing a second hall, kitchens, offices and separate entrance. The main hall is designed to accommodate a badminton court and can also be subdivided into two smaller meeting rooms.
The new building constructed around a steel frame, brick plinth, untreated green oak weatherboarding, plan clay tile roof and oak frame windows and doors.
